been looking for icons to use for sections and having a difficult time locating a place that has a good selection. anyone have some good spots? Thanks

/usr/share/pixmaps and /usr/share/icons are also two good places to look :-)

Try xicons.com. I'm not sure if you can view the icons in windows or any unix besides os x, but it's worth a shot. they have some of the best rendered icons anywhere.

do you know of any prog the will open the hqx files there in linux/unix?

There is a Linux version of Aladdin's StuffIt Expander. Check out their website.
