Forum Subject: Does a site have to be pointing to upload geeklog

Does a site need to be pointing to the domain name to upload the site? At present, I have my domain name on another server. I am trying to set up geeklog to a new server without losing the old geeklog so I can save the data base files. Can I go ahead and upload geeklog to www.internetservice providers.us/nan and later point www.nans.us to it? thanks

In the config.php file you set the url of your site - you can set that to whatever you like, get the site running, and then change it back to the new URL when the DNS updates. HTH.
