I had created some stories in geeklog as the admin. I want to give a user rights to edit one of these stories. I accessed the database directly with phpMyAdmin and changed the uid and the ownerid of the story to the users id. The user is a member of the story admin group. When I login as the user and go to the list of stories, it shows that the user has edit perms for that story only. When I click the edit link I get an error saying the user can't edit that story! The owner has read and edit perms on the story. I can't seem to figure out why the user can't edit the story. Thanks for any help that can be offered.

I did a test. I logged in as the user and submitted a story. Afterwards I tried to edit the story and it does not let me edit that one either. In the list of stories it says the user has edit rights, but when I click the edit link I get the error:
Access Denied
You are trying to access a story that you don't have rights to. This attempt has been logged. You may view the article in read-only below. Please go back to the story administration screen when you are done.

Make sure your topic permissions are correct. See
this FAQ entry[*1] for details.

Dirk, you are the man! I wasn't sure if I was about to cry, crap my pants, or kill someone. That little check next to group edit perms in the topic made all the difference. Thanks so much for the help. It would have taken me hours to think of actually searching the FAQ a little harder .
