i wanna make a portal block that displays an atom feed or some other feed.
is there such thing as a feed 'reader' class?

The next Geeklog release (don't ask for a date ...) will support reading Atom feeds. The code is already in CVS, but it's a lot of changes, so it's not easy to transfer back.

A substitute to upgrading to 1.4 in case one can not at the moment, is using this converter and then entering the link in the RSS feed section... it worked great for me... good luck
