You may want to try our
upgrading instructions[*1] ...
The only problem is that Fantastico doesn't follow our recommended directory layout - but that may be a good time to fix that as well. Make backups of the crucial files (config.php and of course the database) and follow the above instructions.
This FAQ entry may also come in handy, if you can't place files outside of the webroot.

In "My Account" now,after geeklog upgrade,I don't have "Preferences" and I don't see a way how to switch back to the Professional theme..
This is reason because I ask you for help..Do you can just check my website ?

As mentioned in the FAQ: Set the default theme (in config.php) to 'professional', then rename or remove your old theme's directory. Geeklog will then fall back to using the default theme as specified in config.php.

But..what I can see in my config.php proffesional is default theme ! :
// +---------------------------------------------------------------------------+
// | SITE SETTINGS |
// | |
// | These settings help define your Geeklog site. |
// +---------------------------------------------------------------------------+
$_CONF['theme'] = 'professional'; // default theme
// List of entries that you want to see in the site's menu bar (if you're using
// a theme that uses the {menu_elements} variable in its header.thtml).
// Choose any combination of the following (order here = order in the menu).
$_CONF['menu_elements'] = array
// 'home', // link to homepage
'contribute', // contribute / "submit a story" link
'search', // link to advanced search
'stats', // link to site stats
'directory', // link to list of past stories
// 'prefs', // link to user's preferences
'plugins' // links added by plugins, like {plg_menu_elements}
// 'custom' // for custom links (see lib-custom.php)

Did you spell professional correctly?

Yes.."professional" is correct.
Only,problem is because when I log in in my website as administrator,my website theme automaticaly switched to my favorite theme
"white pointer" and in my menu list ,"My account" "preferences" is not showing up...
I tryed to switch in php config "professional" theme to "white pointer" to make "white pointer" to be default and this is working fine,but still when is "white pointer" my default theme in php config, my "preferences" is not showing up in "My account"..
I am administrator on my website,but I have same menu list "My account" like my regulare members..
Now whitout "Preferences" I can not change my theme,my linguage..
When I try to write new story I have still this error ,even my default theme is "white pointer" :
Template Error: set_root: /home/nine/public_html/layout/!White_Pointer1.4.0/admin/common is not a directory.
Halted.
You can see,on this list in php config I have "link to user preferences" but I don't have link for just "preferences" or "admin preferences" ,or "My account preferences" .Before this geeklog upgrade this link was on the list and now is gone..
/ List of entries that you want to see in the site's menu bar (if you're using

Dirk,
I did set the default theme (in config.php) to 'professional', then I renamed my old theme's directories to "professional" and original "professional" theme I renamed to "professional 1".
I switched my favorite theme to be default and now I got default theme what I liked.
Problem is ...now,I got this theme for default theme,but I can not write any storie or static pages..
Every time when I try to send new storie I got this error message:
Template Error: set_root: /home/nine/public_html/layout/professional/admin/common is not a directory.
Halted.
Must be that somewhere else I must make some changes...

Make sure you've updated all the files - including those of the Professional theme. You seem to be missing at least one directory there.

How did you do the upgrade now? I was assuming you uploaded the files yourself since you said it didn't work with Fantastico ...
