i really like GL... but then i think there needs to be more documentation. you're already almost up to GL2 yet the documentation is pretty thin. The guide about installing GL is very difficult to understand... it goes like "setup all the entries there..." i just don't think it's very helpful...

The authors think it is fine otherwise they would have written it differently. Since you don't, the least you could do is help rewrite it.

You should rewrite the documention, or at least write a tutorial for those who are new to php. I have not had any problem installing GL, but I have been a php developer for a while.

I have never been a PHP developer and I have to say the instruction sets given in the documentation are super clear. Step by step. As long as you read and do as they say, you will have few if any issues.

I agree. geeklog was my first exposure to PHP and the docs were short - a plus! - and easy to follow, but most of all, accurate. In some instances, the plugins and blocks have weak documentation, but they assume if you've gotten this far - to the point of installing blocks - your experience level is at least elementary. I'm thrilled with GL, and only wait for some future day when email integration for users is included.

In my experience the trickiest part was distinguishing between path/to/geeklog and path/to/public_html as they were completely different on my server. However, careful reading actually took care of everything for me. In a few cases I had to use absolute paths in config.php instead of relative, but that was just a matter of reading instead of guessing. ;-)
