Upgrading from which version to which version?

The "is_default" field (in gl_topics) has only been introduced in Geeklog 1.3.8rc1, so that shouldn't be a problem ...

You are either trying to upgrade from an earlier CVS version or you are running the upgrade on the same database twice.

thanks dirk. It was a duplicate entry in database. I installed everything fine, moved folders over; plugins, custom images, etc. I am using Blaine\'s forum in the centerblock but when i go to my index.php file it shows only the forum center block stretched to fill the screen. Does this have something to do with new code in the index.php file? Here is link for example. http://67.129.250.112/ss/ss.JPG Thanks.

The current released forum 2.0 will run fine with GL 1.3.8 but not the hacked centerblock that I released on my site. That is only for 1.3.7. You will need to wait until I release my update - for now remove the centerblock function that you added.

Hopefully this will be the last 2 questions for the day. Just to let you know I created a new directory with a new name when I installed 1.3.8 and moved everything over. 1. Everything works fine with 1.3.8 except index.php (homepage), it gives this error. 1064: You have an error in your SQL syntax. Check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near \'WHERE UID = \'5\'\' at line 1 2. How do I move my static pages?

I have narrowed this error to my sessions table in the database. But am lost from there

need an edit post option for poster One more thing. Changed my UID in the Users table from 5 to 50 and it pulled up the index.php page saying I had been logged out. But wouldn\'t let me log back in. I also deleted all entries in the Session table.

Sorry, I thought you were talking about editing your own posts here on the forum. This would be possible if you signed up for a geeklog.net account (but not for the posts you made so far, obviously).

In Geeklog, posters can not edit their own stories or comments.

Still stuck here. I created new account that worked at one location, come to different location and I get same error, except the UID of course changed.

Can you post the corresponding line from Geeklog\'s error.log file, please? It will include the actual SQL request that caused this error.

Hmm, that is missing the table name (after the FROM), obviously. But this doesn\'t look like something that comes from Geeklog itself, anyway. Do you have any plugins or other add-ons installed? If so, try deactivating them one by one, until you find the one that causes the error message ... bye, Dirk

Blaine broke it I could have sworn i disabled the check messages block before. When I disabled it, it fixed the issue. Thanks for the help.

I can only repeat: You must have attempted to run the install script twice. To resolve this, restore your 1.3.7 database from a backup and run the install script (in upgrade mode) again once. bye, Dirk
