I didn't like that COM_showTopics didn't use a template for formatting, so today I changed it!
The version I now use is called COM_jmhshowTopics (just to differentiate it from the real thing), and it lives in my lib-custom.php. To implement it, all you have to do is change the single function call to COM_showTopics that lives in lib-custom. Oh, and of course you need to have the template.
I don't know the proper etiquette for this. Will anyone be interested in seeing this? Should I just upload all the code here, or what? Please let me know.

You should upload it here and submit it to Gplugs as well.

I'm sorry to keep asking stuff like this, but can someone tell me how to upload it? Is there somewhere on the site that allows me to upload php or text files? Or should I just put all the code in some code tags inside of a post?
thanks for any help!

You need to login first. Then from the User Functions block click the "Upload a file" link. This will take you to the FileMgmt plugin upload page.
I recommend placing your code into an archive (.zip, .tar, .tar.gz) before uploading. If you upload a .php file, the FileMgmt plugin will try to execute it...not download it. It's also recommended to include a readme or some other form of instructions.---Danny @ squatty.com
