I finally got around to trying the backup button. Nice. It creates a tidy little sql file for me that can save my bacon if I go psychotic one night and blow away some part of the site. Or can it?

It occurs to me that sql is only half the problem. I've spent just as much time installing modules, changing directory permissions and all that crud to get stuff running. Seems to me that I'd like to have some security against hard drive crashes and stuff like that too.

Is there a reason (other than time/enthusiasm ;-) why the backup button couldn't also zip up the geeklog file hierarchy as well as creating the .sql file?

mmm no not really I'll add it to my list! I'm make a seperate plugin to do it, the GL tem can use it or modify it later for full integration...that or I'll just post a hack for it.

I'm heading out to chicago next week and will have more than enough time to program. Full week just to install a tape drive in our satelite office :-) Well that and anything else I might find.
