Does your GeekLog site have forums and daily digests enabled? Wouldn't it be nice to include a summary of forum traffic along with those digests? Now you can. This script replaces emailgeeklogstories on systems that use the forum plugin and will automatically add a summary (first sentence only) of each forum posting in forums the user has access to.
The code still has a few rough edges. It hasn't been internationalized. There is no way for the user to disable forum summaries. Because of this, it will only be useful on sites where the traffic is fairly light. But that describes my site, so it might describe yours as well. Rather than sit on it, I thought I'd share it for any and all who can make use of it.
