Hi all!
I wonder if the Forum plugin is based on phpBB (a lot of things seem to indicate this).

If so, which version is it based on, and is there some compatibility retained -i.e could you re-use a phpBB database with the Forum plugin? (Alternatively, is there an import script.)

BTW, I do realise that phpBBbridge is an alternative solution.

Thanks for any reply!

Other then some similar looking icons, what what would indicate this?

All the code in the forum plugin is original - created from the begining as a Geeklog Native Plugin.

Nothing!
The "similar looking icons" (same, surely?) indicated this!

Similiar? I think they are the icons from phpBB. Blaine do you have permision to use these icons? Otherwise you expose the forum plugin to legal matters.

I just finished downloading custom made icons and buttons that were made freely available for whatever use I wanted, including this forum or phpbb. wow, they even look just like phpbb's buttons. oh wait a minute, they were made by the phpbb developers for my own personal use. kewl.

It's not hard to make a button dude. what's hard is to make one not look like the other billion that have already been make. it's a button.

So, to Sum up, what Seems to have the Scent of Something Similar is Satisfactory and Suitable. Sure it Seems the Same. But Snot. See? Sides, Blaine's Stuff Speaks of Some Savory and Set apart Skillz.

This forum is NOT phpBB based. I was helping Blaine with the layout and CSS and we temporarily used the icons from phpBB until I got around to making custom ones.

That said, YOU CAN DIRECT ALL BLAME TOWARDS ME ON THIS ISSUE.

Blaine and I are working to resolve this issue and release a more appropriately themed forum for Geeklog in the neat future.
