I'm having a good look at Geeklog and what features would need to be added for my purposes. (Namely, a forum and some sort of image gallery functions).

In general terms, do most plug-ins and blocks continue to function with a new release of GL?

If not (or, if "only sometimes"), I'm specifically wondering: how do most of you cope with promptly installing security upgrades vs. ensuring features do not break on a busy website?
