I create a new story, and try to publish it to a topic and it never displays.

Topics always show 0/0. I have tried creating new topics and new stories for the topics but nothing is working.

I am using version 1.3.11, and had it working fine. But I only had one Topic then.

Help anyone please if you have any idea what the trouble may be.

No. Guess I have NOT found the problem.

But stories I am testing with show up, but some do not. Have no idea whats causing this irregular activity.

And do not understand why stories do no display immediately.

Ok maybe it's that they are just taking a few minutes to show up. I tried setting the time backwards on submissions and they showed up.

Sorry for bothering everyone.

It would help if you would provide more information about what you were actually trying to do.

Generally speaking, stories submitted by (Story) Admins appear immediately unless
  1. the date has been set into the future or
  2. the "draft" flag has been set

Stories submitted by normal users end up in the submission queue first, unless
  1. the submission queue has been switch off in config.php or
  2. the user in question has got the 'story.submit' permission

If stories only appear a few minutes after you posted them, it may be a problem with the time on your webserver (e.g. the web server and MySQL server using slightly different times). Try asking your hosting service for help here.

bye, Dirk

Yeah I finally figured that out. Sorry for posting so fast without more testing.

No much sleep last night, has me a bit groggy.

I felt stupid after I figured it out.

Thanks for the feedback. Maybe I will have a serious question soon. haha

I am my own host, so have only myself to blame. And I did find my server was off an hour due to the recent DST change. And another SQL permissions setting I had missed.
