Hmmm, it is what you call easy
You are running
apache on a linux box in most probably a shared hosting environment.
The short answer to the question would be
the redirect capacity of .htaccessHowever ... life wouldn´t be as wonderfull if this easy answer is
not really correct.
Your domain name has been linked to a nameserver, when you registered it, and that one is pointing to your host.
That host, has assigned you a dedicated or virtual IP, which in it turn will serve the root directory of your domain name.
Now since you are running apache, this root web directory is part of your server config, and you don´t have access to it. You can use a .htaccess file to do a redirect, but it is MUCH easier, just to move your OLD geeklog installation to a "backup" directory and move the ../unitedstates to your root one.
It is just a question of a few moving arounds, and updating your config.php and your done.
This will ensure a clean install, without the hassle of using .htaccess to perform the redirect.
Why not do an upgrade in the first place ?
