I can't figure out what I cant get on the site from another computer. I failed at installing geeklog on this server but I don't know why that would prevent me from attempting again. Any admins out there that can help? I'm not going through a proxy, etc etc.

Sorry, but can you try and provide some more information please? There isn't much in your post to base any form of help on ...

When I try connecting from my server, I get "Access is denied." When I connect from home, I connect just fine. I'm not sure why my server's IP has some sort of block on it. I'm worried this is going to cause upgrade notifications or any feature which requires "phone home" type support to fail.

So you get this when you try to connect to your own site? Did you check the webserver's logfiles?

no, this has nothing to do with my own www service. if i try to open a web browser on my server and connect to the geeklog server, i get the error. just the same, if i connect from home, using my own proxy server, i get the error so i believe the error is related to my server being blocked by ip address when it connects to the geeklog.net webserver.

Email me your IP address(es) and I'll check what we're blocking (and why).

I had a problem like this one, well, not like this but close. Trying to connect from my work machine I alway get "access denied". In fact, in my infinite stupidity my home PC was already connected with the same IP. Does this sounds familiar?

Same as above: Let me know your IP address and I'll check.
