Hello all,

I would very much like all story edits and static page edits pages to use the FCKeditor as a default. I am able to select it on each page, but is there a place in the config where i could make it the default?

$_CONF['postmode'] = 'html'; // can be 'plaintext' or 'html'

Perhaps a variable or "Advanced" or "Editor" for this line in the config?

Any thoughts anyone?

Text Formatted Code
// +---------------------------------------------------------------------------
// | Support for custom templates to support advanced Rich Text Editor
// | Checked in comment.php, submit.php, admin/story.php and
// | staticpages/index.php. If set true and advanced template exists
// | Note: If enabled, the default postmode will be html
// +---------------------------------------------------------------------------
$_CONF['advanced_editor'] = true;

You misunderstood I think... I know that setting that variable to true enables the FCKeditor, but what was asking was if it was possible to make it the default post mode for geeklog - In the older version of the editor when you set the postmode to HTML - the editor would automatically come up when you went to edit a page or a story.

In the new version of the editor that is in GL1.4.1 there is a new drop down menu in the edit mode that features the three post modes for GL stories, Static pages, etc. These post modes are Plain Text, HTML Formatted and Advanced Editor - the advanced editor DOES NOT automatically come up when in edit mode - YOU MUST switch to it if you want to use it...

Thus, my question, not how do you enable it as an available option, but is there a way to make it perform like it used to? To set the edit mode to be Advanced Editor by default? So a novice would not have to go and hunt for it...

OK, I see that although the fckeditor is default in submissions, comments and static page edit, I is not default in story edit or for a new static page.

That is a good pointExclamation

It seems like something to address in code or templates. But someone more knowledgeable will have to jump in.

It does remember if the static page had last been edited with the advanced editor however...

Well, I just had to do a series of story edits--where fckeditor does not come up as default. And that is a little aggravating to continually reselect it. Confused
