Has anyone seen a behavior where after an upgrade, clicking on a Topic link does not filter the list of stories displayed but instead just displays all stories no matter what the topic?

No I have not heard of this happening. What version did you upgrade too?

From 1.8.2sr1 to 2.0.0

I am running my site on 1.8.2.sr1 for now, but I have been able to reproduce the error on multiple upgrade attempts

It is hard to diagnose the problem when I haven't experienced it before and you didn't really give much information.

Is there anything in the error log?

When clicking on a topic are you in that topic (but it is displaying all the stories) or are you being redirected back to the home page?

How many topics do you have and are any of them child topics?

Is your site multilingual?
