So, as the title says... I can find tools to go from Geeklog to WordPress but I can't seem to find anything to go the opposite direction. Why I'd want to do that was eaten by the spam filter.

I must admit our spam system should handle detection a little better and make it easier for legitimate users to be able to return to their post and attempt to fix the problem.

It is something we are aware of and hope to fix in the future (while still being able to block real spam bots and users).

You would be surprised though at the length real spammers take to be able to post spam. Our system gets flooded everyday with attempted posts by spammers looking for a loop hole.

Looking at the logs it looks like the term "heap prices" is what triggered the spam filter for your post. It looks like it is a play on the word "cheap prices" which some spammer must have used at some point and it was added to the spam list. I have since removed it.

Heh. Actually, I've had an online presence since the days when people used to call into my computer and use my BBS. I've seen some pretty crafty spammers.

With a username like your's, I'd expect you'd have appreciated the post. On reflection, I can see why it might have caught it - it being a dumb filter and all. No, not that kind of dumb but more akin to the dumb terminal type of dumb.

I went and played with Geeklog more, after making the post, and I think it actually looks like it might actually be much easier on the servers than WordPress. It appears to have many of the features I'd like but, more importantly, it also appears to be easy enough to work with that I can just add any features that I think it's missing.

So, I'll keep looking for how to convert WP to GL. I'd absolutely give it a try but everything I see is going in the wrong direction for what I'm trying to look into.

I know there is no conversion tool for WordPress to Geeklog. It has been done with scripts before but that was long ago and I have no idea where any of that stuff went. I am not familiar with the innards of WordPress but it shouldn't be to difficult to move the articles over as long as you know some SQL.

Just make sure the articles are tied to a user and a topic.

For any additional features you are more than welcome to make feature requests on GitHub () and if you add your own your more than welcome to do a pull request from our GitHub repository which we can take a look at and if everything looks good include it with the next version of Geeklog.
