What should I make out of a

1064: You have an error in your SQL syntax near ',,,)' at line 1?

I don't think I made any changes that caused that ... latest and greatest version, basically no customization yet.

This is when trying to approve a submitted story.

Have a look at Geeklog's error.log file and quote the error message from there. It will include the complete SQL query that caused the error. Also, some more information on your setup could help.

Sometime when you include lib-common.php you get that error message.

From what I can tell on this website, this is obviously a known and persistent issue with this particular build of GL.

Anyway, here is a strange one for you: I have two websites set up, each with GL installed. Each uses a differently named database under MySQL 3.23.51. One works very well, while the other consistently gets these MySQL errors in two different areas of GL. The first is an error (1) when trying to submit or edit a story, and the other is a 1064 error (2) when trying to use the search feature. I've reinstalled several times along with clearing cookies on both IE 5.2.1 and NetScape 7.

I've now killed two full all-nighters messing with the permissions of this second website trying to figure out wht might be causing the issue, but I've had no luck. PLEASE HELP!!!!

One more thing to note that both have symbolic links to the public_html folders located outside of the GL folder. Since the one works well, I have assumed that this is not the issue with the second one.

(1) Originally a 1064 error, but now, after futsing with the permissions, it just gives a Please fill in the Author, Title and Intro Text fields error and doesn't allow me to submit a story

Another interesting thing to note... by submitting a story with a null intro text field, I was able to repeat this error with the story submission/ editing. As long as I have intro text, then it seems to work, albeit half- assed. This problem does not happen at all with the good install on the first website. Still cannot get past the search issue with the second website.

Spoke too soon... On the Good installation, submitting a story with a null Intro field gives me the same issue as the Website with the problems. I'm getting a "Please fill in the Author, Title and Intro Text fields" error, but just didn't notice it when I tested it. Maybe you guys can track it down with this information. Let me know if there is anything else I can submit that might help. Thanks!

There is a known bug (which has been discussed here somewhere and is fixed in CVS) with the search function in 1.3.6 when you don't have any stories or comments on your site. That error goes away when you add a story ... bye, Dirk

Thanks Dirk, I noticed that it mysteriously dissapeared once I added a story. Weird... Anyway, I appreciate your response. It definitely helps to know the people that have gone through it already. Speaking of going through it all... anyone know how to integrate the 1.3.2 version of Gallery into this version of GL? I've been searching everywhere on how to do this, but have only found stuff on the old versions which use a patcher that I'm not about to try on this version after finally getting it to work. Thanks!
