MySQL error - function error

I keep getting an error when I try to install Geeklog on my Apache webserver, but it always gives me an error after I click Next on the 2:2 step. Here's the error:
Fatal error: Call to undefined function: () in /var/www/html/geeklog/system/databases/mysql.class.php on line 104

Any Help on this? i am experiencing the same problem.
i am using RedHat 8.0, also tried on RedHat 7.2.
using apache 2.0.40, mysql 3.23.52 and whatever version of php that comes with redhat 8, its php4.something

i had the same problem, and recompiling and reinstalling my PHP
(4.3something)... then restarting my webserver... YMMV
