All my files are set to chmod775 but I am still getting this message when running check.php
Does anybody have a suggestion for me?
Thank you!

You've got a corrupted file there. It's not even recognizing LB as a carriage return and line feed. To get mine to write to those two files, I had to use 777 instead of 775.

btw I am using Gossamer threads fileman in MSIE on OSX as file manager...I found out it was corrupting files when editing them...
I restarted from scratch but without success so far..;-(

A parse error doesn't have anything to do with file permissions. It means that PHP can't parse (interpret, understand) the contents of the file - in this case, lib-common.php.
So chances are the file is corrupted. Start with a fresh copy of that file.
bye, Dirk
