Posting stories wiithout author, date, etc.

Is it possible to post stories without the author, date, etc. showing? I'd like to post stories as Admin without all that information showing up each time. Also where do I disable the stats from being available? I'd rather not have these available right now and don't know how to deactivate them. Any help is appreciated.

You can remove all this stuff by simply editing the HTML templates for earch theme installed in /path/to/geeklog/public_html/layout/ Read the docs to get a feel for how the templates work and where to look for the items you are after.

There's also an option in config.php to hide at least the name of the poster from the stories: $_CONF['contributedbyline'] = 0; To not show the other information, you need to modify the theme, as Tony already said. Hiding the stats from the menu depends on the theme you're using. Most themes use the {menu_elements} variable which is a placeholder for a predefined set of menu entries (contribute, links, stats, ...). If you don't want to use that set, you will have to remove {menu_elements} from the theme's header.thtml file and add only the menu entries you want to keep. Themes like XSilver and Smooth_Blue do that already. bye, Dirk
