site url looks like www.mysite.com/www.mysite.com

When I add my site's URL to the _CONF['site_url'] variable in config.php, all references to GL items change to something like
www.mysite.com/www.mysite.com/(whatever program.php)
When I remove the URL from the _CONF['site_url'] variable (to make it ''), all references to GL items correctly change to
www.mysite.com/(whatever program.php)
Any clues? Where is my site's url coming from?
Thanks!

It is coming from the $_CONF['site_url'] variable.
Since you didn't post what you have in there, I have to guess: Did you include the 'http://'?
bye, Dirk

Thanks Dirk. I feel awfully embarrassed now because I forgot to add the http://
(In my post I did state what was in the _site_url variable. I guess I didn't make it clear. I removed the URL to make the variable contain ''-- in other words nothing.)
Everything is fine now. Thanks again.
