i found
http://www.geeklog.ca
it looks to me that it is a copy of geklog.net
i'm very interested in how you did it (consistency of databases - with .ca site phucked up somwhat
(Error in PHP Block. Function, phpblock_themetester, does not exist.
Error in PHP Block. Function, phpblock_whos_new, does not exist.)
)
i would very much like to run two geeklogs (one clean and one garabged with plugins and stuff) that would use the same database, or similar.

Please do a search, as using two (or more) Geeklog installs with the same database has been discussed here several times already.
As for geeklog.ca: That's just a playground, using an ordinary SQL backup. No sychronisation of any kind is happening there.
bye, Dirk

the thing is
that i forgot my password
and changed it on geeklog.net and it worked on geeklog.ca too.
that's why i thought those sites use the same database.
will look it up
tnx for the one core multiple sites (multiple databases) thingy ... it could come in handy ... someday.
i was wondering ... at upgrade, i should upgrade all installs all the same, i mean, do i get to upgrade yust once, and have them all upgraded?

i looked it up
i didn't find an answer, found lots of answers that i didn't even know the questions yet ...
the thing is
i run a geeklog site wich is running from
http://www.gape.org/geeklog/public_html/index.php
thru time it became so big that we registered a domain for it
http://www.pozitivke.net/
currenty pozitivke.net is yust a 'mirror' of the first page, running on same server ... it is a virtual server i think.
all the urls that accesible via gape.org
are accesible thru pozitivke.net too

afcource phuck is with logins ... cookie is valid for gape.org only
i read somewhere that i could have 2 cookies created if they are on diferent domains.
is that possible?
in my case?
domains have the same ip ...
the topic
2 installs of geeklog using the same database
i want to run a clean working install of geeklog on pozitivke.net
and a second one on gape.org ... this last one would be used for testing of new functions, plugins, hacks & stuff and a user could use it normally on live database (preferably to write to in too), the same database that pozitivke.net would use ... the same tables ... i mean _not_ two sets of tables (i.e. some other db_prefix).
could this be done?
i really feel bad when i phuck up the code and the whole site fall down ... that way, everybody would know that on gape.org, they can browse in more enhanced way, but they can stop browsing in any second ... not of their own free will.
and if they like to live in peace without trouble and if they don't like enhancements (& slower response time) ... they can allways use the 'mirror'.
either way ...
