I've uploaded everything, chmod'd to the hilt and yet everytime I try to change my filemgmt configuration it resets itself to default. This is as soon as I hit save configuration..i got back to check immediately and it resets. I've gone to the extreme and 777'd anything to do with the plugin. Haven't tried to upload because I can't set my var/www path so why bother. The install looked ok and users/admin can view the my downloads block, but can't access it because by default it's disabled in the filemgmt config. Help! My site is mainly about my downloads and events (love the calendar btw!)

hrm i know i chmod'd all the permissions but somehow they reset themselves. i went back in today and everything was reset. i changed them again and it saves now. definitely a chmod issue. any ideas? maybe my ws_ftp reset them on disconnect? i have had chmod issues in the past where if i don't refresh my ftp after changing they will reset. but i double checked them this time and it was ok. must have happened on disconnect. just for future reference triple check your chmods if you use ws_ftp.

Some ftp clients don't display the actual file / directory permissions but always show a set of default permissions. Don't know if ws_ftp is one of them, but in case of such problems it may be worth double-checking with another client ...
