Seems that Journal plugin has affected Forum plugin from displaying for logged-in users. I believe it has caused the Forum to disappear from their User Functions and top nav link to forum.....is that possible. I tried different scenarios with Test User account. That is the only change I have made from last night to this morning. And logged-in users could see it yesterday. This morning it is gone. If I change users permissions to "file admin" they can see it of course. Any ideas.

Did the plugin just rewrite my header.thtml file and blow out the forum link. And edit the same for user functions and the forum settings link?

Thanks.

Try disabling the journal plugin. This will not effect any database tables. Once disabled any effect it may have is removed.

Thanks Blaine. By the way....I want you to know that your plugins are fantastic and your instructions are easy to follow. For all those "how do I do this" - just wanted to give you a positive amongst all the negatives.

I'll let you know my results.

Cheers

Disabling the Journal plugin, had no effect. I will try your suggestion in the other topic. "Check anonymous state of Forum plugin" as soon as I find those toggles.

Thanks again.

I do have Anonymous toggled on for Forumpost Block permissions. Is that what you meant?

Thanks,
Tommy

Does this happen as well with the standard themes?

You must have the Forum Setting for "Registered to View" set true or On.

The Forum Menuiten in the header should appear if this is Off or if the user is a member of a group with forum.user rights.

I can duplicate the menu item disappearing when I set this setting off.

I had the same problem. Thanks to this thread I was able to figure it out without asking a dumbass redundant question.

But the reason it was a problem in the first place was because, after setting the global forum Register-To-View flag, I then went and created a category that was set to All-users. Would it be a good idea to either disable the All-users choice from that category- Or even better, show an error message when the admin tries to set a forum to All-users if the Register-To-View flag is set.

Yep, that makes sence. I would of added that a long time ago if I had considered that situation.
