Filemanagement is causing site problems

Actually, it's not the plugin causing the problems, it's me! I completely screwed up an install of Filemanagement. I am running GL 1.3.8sr3. I installed all the filemanagement files and folders, and installed the plugin. Everything went well until I mistyped a path in the configuration area. Everything got complicated from that point, with lots of error messages, so I tried uninstalling filemanagement plugin. I was advised that the uninstall went ok, but kept getting this error message:
****************
Warning: main(/hsphere/local/home/ckbasite/geeklog-config/ckba.com/plugins/filemgmt/functions.inc) [function.main]: failed to create stream: No such file or directory in /data/hsphere/local/home/ckbasite/ckba.com/lib-common.php on line 5188

Fatal error: main() [function.main]: Failed opening required '/hsphere/local/home/ckbasite/geeklog-config/ckba.com/plugins/filemgmt/functions.inc' (include_path='.:/usr/local/lib/php'Wink in /data/hsphere/local/home/ckbasite/ckba.com/lib-common.php on line 5188
************

I panicked, and deleted every file and folder to do with filemanagement, hoping to be able to start fresh. No such luck ... site is down, and only the error message appears. I tried installing a fresh lib-common.php, but that didn't work either.

Can anyone tell me what to do with the info I have provided so far?

Thanks so much!

Hans

try disabling the file mngt plugin. and if works install it again. the first error you stated seems to me an incorrect file path.

I cannot do anything. The site is completely down. Cry All I get when I go to the url are the above errors. I was hoping there was some way to just start again. As I said, I deleted all the files and folders that had anything to do with the filemanagement plugin. Is there a file on the site that is changed when you install a plugin? If so, I need to upload a new one of those as well.

Thanks,
Hans

You can disable the plugins manually by updating the gl_plugins table. Setting pi_enabled for any record to 0

You can do the same with blocks - the gl_blocks table setting the is_enabled to 0.

Use phpMyAdmin - if you have it installed to update the database manually.

If a plugin is installed it will try to execute some of its common code on all pages -- the API calls. Also if a block is to show on that page and that code has an error - it may also halt the site. Depends on the error and normally it will not halt geeklog. But a PHP "require" statment indicates to include another file that is requried and if you can not find it then HALT.

Thanks a lot for your response, Blaine. I went to phpMyAdmin and looked up the gl_plugins table. I saw pi_enabled, but could not figure out how to set any record to 0.

Rather than have you waste your time explaining this in detail, I will contact you personally and hire you to do this for me.

Thanks,
Hans

For anyone following this thread, Blaine and I got together and he fixed me up in about 30 minutes. Saved me a heck of a lot of time and frustration. Cool

Thanks,
Hans
