Heya,
Last week my site went down. The connection with the mysql database got lost. My new hostingcompany asked if I could change the mysql_connect to mysql_pconnect, because it was apparently causing some trouble on their server. Well, I did change it, but actually I haven't got a clue if this affects anything on the site. I googled around and it doesn't seem to be too bad...but are there any sideaffects??
The other problem is that there still is a database problem somewhere, once or twice a day, the site goes down, and after 20/30 minutes it goes up again. Could this be because of the large amount of visitors and people online? (~7000 visitors per day)or is it a serverside problem?? (the problem happened before I changed the mysql thingie)
Any suggestions are appreciated!!
