Geeklog Forums

Hello,

first of all, this is my first experience ever with a cms and I have to say that Geeklog is working great. I succeeded installing it without any big headaches.

Now I have som quistions which I hope will be answered.

1. Where can i get the plugins for geeklog? (i know there are some in download section on this site) Are their other sites where one can get plugins from?

2. I want to make a menu in one of the boxes at left. How can I do that? any plugin? The menu should be something like this:

- category 1(this should not be a link, but only text)
-link 1
-link 2
- category 2(this should not be a link, but only text)
-link 1
-link 2
- category 3(this should not be a link, but only text)
-link 1
-link2

3. I have read that people are talking about integrating forum. which forum? currently i am using phbb2 2.08a, is it possible to use that within Geeklog?

If it doesn't need to be dynamic (i.e. you add the links manually), the simplest thing would be to create a "normal" block (from the Admin's Block menu) and simply put the HTML in there.

Or you may want to have a look at Tom Willet's Menu plugin.


The only forum that really works with Geeklog is the Forum plugin (the one you're using when you read this). There are hacks available for integrating phpBB, but they haven't been updated in a long time and I don't know if they're even working any more ...

Ok, thanks for the help.

Now i have tried to do as you suggested. I tried to make a block and then added som html menu therein. The problem now is that the links are not working properly. If I link to a statis page, it only works with first hit, after that it changes the linkurl!!...and if one tries to click at the link it hust says page not found.

Example:

Before clicking at the menu the link url is like this:

http://www.*********/TestForum2/staticpages/index.php?page=20040609211320485

When clicked once at the menu, the it loads the page and after that ine can not click at the same menu. it adds an extra "staticpages" to the same link, like this:

http://www.**********/TestForum2/staticpages/staticpages/index.php?page=20040609211320485

As you can see "staticpages" is added in to the original link and because of that one can not use the link again. I hope somebody can help me with this.

Use absolute links, either ones starting with http:// or at least with a /
