Gallery alternatives (that don't need ImageMagick/NetPBM)?

Unfortunately my hosting provider/ISP does not support ImageMagick/NetPBM, so I was wondering if anybody knew of any secure photo/image galleries that can be used from within GL.

At this point I might just have to settle for a non-plugin that doesn't use IM/NetPBM.

Thanks for any help

At the risk of sounding ignorant, how would I go about running/installing imagemagick from my home/root directory (and thereby allowing Gallery to run) independent of my host?

I think ImageMagick has to be installed properly, so if your hosting service doesn't support it, you can't use it.

But if you're allowed to execute binaries on your webspace, you could try installing NetPBM instead. It's just a collection on binaries - put them into a directory on your server and set the paths accordingly. A link to the NetPBM binaries is on the Gallery homepage - make sure to pick the correct ones for your server.

bye, Dirk

I went back and took a look, and was able to get the NetPBM binaries executing properly (with the help of a tech at the hosting company - one of the default permissions needed to be set differently). I left it out of my first post for some reason, but NetPBM wasn't functioning properly before (along with IM not being installed).

Thanks for mentioning it, and sort of getting me to go back and look at it.
