Could someone please help!
I've been trying for ages to get a forum working. I've checked the config.php file using tomw's . Knuff gave me help too in the forum . But I still can't get anything working. I've already looked at diagram .
One question: I have a directory on my server mysite.com/ where exactly is that supposed to go. Or is it just the contents of that that go somewhere and no part of any path name has .../mysite.com/ in it.
Any help...? (Please be really clear)
I can't even get HTML to work in this forum now...from bad to worse!

HTML wouldn't work for me in the above, so here's the links that didn't work.
"tomw" was supposed to be a link to
--> http://www.pigstye.net/conf.php
and the forum where Knuff helped me is
--> http://www.geeklog.net/forum/viewtopic.php?forum=2&showtopic=49375
and the diagram I checked out is
--> http://wiki.geeklog.net/wiki/index.php/Installation_Instructions

Hi Shane,
You must be on the good track since your last update here
If I go now to your forum you get An SQL error has occured. Please see error.log for details.
If you post the error by going to /hsphere/local/home/fjryanio/geeklog/logs/error.log the answer might be very easy and clear.
Do you see the forum succesfully being installed under your plugin directory ?
Since you do have Geeklog succesfully installed, it must be something very simple.
Do you have SSH access to your account / server ? If you can set up a user account for me I could have a quick look where it goes wrong. Alternatively do a ls -l of following directories.
/hsphere/local/home/fjryanio/
/hsphere/local/home/fjryanio/geeklog/
/hsphere/local/home/fjryanio/geeklog/plugins/forum
/hsphere/local/home/fjryanio/trojanswimclub.ie/
/hsphere/local/home/fjryanio/trojanswimclub.ie/forum
/hsphere/local/home/fjryanio/trojanswimclub.ie/admin/plugins/forum
you should see the following
/hsphere/local/home/fjryanio/geeklog/
contains config.php
/hsphere/local/home/fjryanio/geeklog/plugins/forum
contains following files and directories
changes_v2.3.1.txt debug.php language templates
changes_v2.3.2.txt functions.inc lib-portalparts.php themefiles
config.php install_doc.htm sql userupdate
/hsphere/local/home/fjryanio/trojanswimclub.ie/forum
contains following files and directories
createtopic.php include moderation.php sm_memberlist.php
gf_userprefs.php index.php notify.php viewtopic.php
images memberlist.php print.php
/hsphere/local/home/fjryanio/trojanswimclub.ie/admin/plugins/forum
contains following files and directories
boards.php install.php mod_header.thtml upgrade_v1.0.php
gf_functions.php ips.php mods.php upgrade_v2.0_to_2.2.php
index.php messages.php mod_tablerow.thtml upgrade_v2.2_to_2.3.php
install_doc.htm migrate.php settings.php upgrade_v2.3.php
Hopes this helps
Boris

Knuff fixed ALL my site geeklog problems.
And explained where I went wrong.
I cannot speak highly enough of this man!
Thank you.
Incidently Knuff's cleanup sent from disk quota from 36% to 22%.
So that gives an idea how much of a mess I was in.
Those who say it can't be done, are usually interrupted by others doing it.
