Error uploading files when posting stories
All of a sudden I cannot upload images when posting stories. Don't know what the problem is. I am getting the following error:
Warning: chmod(): No such file or directory in /home/****/system/classes/upload.class.php on line 551
There is nothing in my error log. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

There is nothing in my error log. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

No my site is hosted at Ezserver. Scurvydawg runs it and he is an experienced geeklog user. He actually fixed this problem for me the other day. I will post the fix for the problem ASAP.
If you are looking for a great host check out Ezserver. They do good work.

I would really appreciate a fix for this. My host tried a few things but it hasn't helped the problem. They say it's not running in safe mode, and the futura program thing is up to date. I have no idea what the problem is. Help.

Well...there you have it. The problem is with the latest version of PHP v4.4.1.
Your ISP probably upgraded recently and your site and any other GL's they host snarfed.
v4.4.0 works.

I wasn't given a lot of info as to what exactly the problem is with V4.4.1 other than the fact that it was why the image uploads were failing. I do know that we are currently running on V4.4.0 so it seemed kind of obvious to me that my host reverted to an earlier version and that solved the problem.
I would contact your host and let them know that this might be causing the problem you are having. I don't know how big a deal it is to revert to an earlier version but it solved the problem we were having.
You might also try Dirk's suggestion in this thread.
Sorry I can't be any more specific than this but thats all the info I have.
BTW I checked out your site and think it looks great. What theme are you using and have you made a lot of modifications? I am thinking of refreshing the look of my site and don't recall seeing that theme before.
Good luck.

Can't remember where I read all this, but it seems that there are some bugs in PHP 4.4.1 that are only triggered in certain server configurations (I just uploaded an image to one of my Geeklog sites running on PHP 4.4.1, so it doesn't happen everywhere). PHP 4.4.2 is already in the works and expected to be released in about 2 weeks.
From the hosting company's point of view, they have a problem now: PHP 4.4.1 fixes a couple of security issues. So when they roll back to 4.4.0, they open those again. On the other hand, customers may have problems running certain scripts on 4.4.1 ...
bye, Dirk
