I'm logged in here to this forum. But emails I send myself from here are not arriving.

also - do not see a logout link anwhere. And, if my user name is suppsed to displyy next to the "welcome to geeklog" message - it's not there.

The message options, after posting (subccribe, etc.) are not clickable.

I'm using Firefox 1.7.12.

Any moderator here who can help with this?

When I clcik on My Subcriptions, I get an error message saying "you must be logged in" - but I'm posting here and can see my post - so obviously I'm logged in.

As I said, this is truly weird. Is there a bug in this forum software?

Yep - somehow this board sfotware is corrupted. When I clicked on "Firum Prefences" it retuned a web page saying

"Gone

The requested resource

/forum/userprefs.php

is no longer available on this server and there is no forwarding address. Please remove all references to this resource."

this needs some attention.

im not logged in and im posting here...
if you are having to enter an Author name when posting in the forums then you are not logged in....

I am asked to log in as an Author in the forums but I cannot post in the Geeklog itself. My registration there does not work anymore - but it did a few days ago when I signed up.

My login attempt there is rejected. So I used the "forgot (sic) your password" feature. The entry accepted my user name (same as I use here) and the return said it was sending an email containing my password to the email address used when I registered. No message has arrived. That was a loooong time ago.

Is there a Moderator here who can help with this problem?

Problem solved (sort of)

I took another approach. First I tried to register a new account as "jerseyjoe" and got the expected rejection because there is already one by that name. That's the one who does not recieve emails that the system promises.

So I registered a new account with a similar name and an alternative email address.

I also got a confirming email with a password, something that jerseyjoe never got. And I got an automatic welcoming message.

My log in using this new account was recognized.

That still leaves the unresolved issue of what's happening with the original registration - but that's not my problem any more.

eanwhile, I have unacknowleged questions in another posting where I'm trying to figure out why Google Ads are not consistently displaying in blocks on otherwise identical pages.
