Hey all,

interesting thing is happening to my GL (v. 1.4.1.).

I am building the site before going live and today I tested the registration...

... and new users cant register!
Hmm.

Error GL prints is "Entered email is not valid".

What gives?

Thank you all.

m.

Are you entering a valid email? Did you try a different email?

Are you using the professional theme?

Yes, professional theme is used.

I really don't understand whats going on.
Hmm.

Error GL prints is "Entered email is not valid".

Is that the exact wording? I don't think that message is coming from Geeklog. Did you install any modifications, e.g. code for a custom registration page?

bye, Dirk

Yes, exact error message is:

The email address provided does not appear to be a valid email address

Captcha is installed and disabled.

That is $message[52] and it is printed when email does not pass a call to COM_isEmail(). So you're going to have to post the email for use to see why it might be failing.

Thank you for your reply, but I don't understand which email you need.

The one I try to register with?

No problem:
testing@hotmail.com or any other email with correct syntax.

Hmm.

Does that site have a way to be accessed from the net? If so, whats the URL? It doesn't have to be a persay live site for all to see. It can be a test site that those willing to help you, get this setup properly..

Max,

I get the same thing when I try to register a new account. Some thing I would suggest is to have someone who knows geeklog and go into your setup and figure out what is causing the problem and see if they can fix it. Send me an email and I'd be willing to look at it.

What is $_CONF['disallow_domains'] set to in your config.php?

I took a look at what he had and it seemed okay but as soon as I wiped out that line and put the default on back in place it seemed to work. But I never got the email. So I looked at the error log and it had this in there now Any ideas?

Text Formatted Code

[pear_error: message="mail() returned failure" code=0 mode=return level=notice prefix="" info=""]

I suspect but not sure though, it might be that the php.ini file is not configured for the mail section. Could I be right?

Michael,

it is ok, it works now.

I just deleted all the capthca files (from /admin/plugins, /plugins and /captcha) and everything is ok.

Well, even with the captcha files installed, it should all work (and it does, on my other GL), but for now I don't really care.
Smile

Tnx you guys and keep up the very good work!

Kind regards
m.
