I am pleased to announce the release of Media Gallery v1.6.0 for Geeklog. Media Gallery is a complete multi-media management plugin that allows you to manage and display your photo, audio, and video media files. For full details, see the gl Labs website, home of Media Gallery and other plugins.

New in v1.6.0 is the ability to create custom themes for each of your albums. Leveraging the feature set of the Caching Template Library, you only need to copy the template files you wish to modify, this makes creating a custom theme very easy. There are four included themes you can use or use them as a model to create your very own style for your albums.

Media Gallery v1.6.0 also brings many enhancements to how your organize and search your media. A new search results page now displays thumbnails instead of using the old list based results. Keywords associated with your media items are now hot links so you can easily find similar media items.

Media Gallery v1.6.0 has undergone an extensive HTML validation process. Each template file has been updated to provide strict, compliant HTML. Media Gallery v1.6.0 is also prepared to support the new XHTML features of Geeklog v1.5 (currently in development). Media Gallery v1.6.0 now uses the main Geeklog style sheet which improves overall site look and feel integration.
