Hi, I've just upgraded to Forum v. 2.7 from v. 2.5RC1.

I used to have a "latests posts" block on the right. The admin settings for the Forum also imply that there is one (since there are settings for the number of posts, etc.). However, in my blocks page I don't see anything (I just see Forum Menu, which is different).

Also, I'm now seeing the entire first paragraph of posts when I look at a forum. See example here

I'm using GeekLog 1.4.1 and MySQL v. 5.0.27

You need to add the new CSS declarations to your theme's style.css file and do a Re-Sync on the forums in the Admin->Forum->Forums page.

Hi Blaine,

I've done both, and it hasn't helped.

If the whole-paragraphs-instead-of-titles bug is to do with layout, do you know which layout files it relates to? I've kept a number of layout files from my pre-1.4.1 version of the professional theme (so as not to break my work), but maybe I've kept too many. I have already upgraded all the layout files in forum folder, though.

But as for the latest posts block, do you know why that isn't showing up?

Thanks!

Any thoughts on the two errors I'm getting?

1) Latests posts not showing in What's New block (or it's own block, or wherever it's supposed to be)
2) Whole paragraphs showing in the list of forum topics (like here)?

The layout/professional/forum folder is the latest version, completely untouched by me, and there is the latest professional/forum.css file, and the functions have been added to professional/functions.php.

Some other layout stuff has been changed by me, but not much. Nothing, as far as I know, which would relate to the forum or to the latests-posts block.

Any help?

Sam

Hi Blaine,

I had already added the contents of forum.css to my style sheet. I had looked at the contents of the pre1.4.1_forums, but since I already had all the plugin stuff and navbar stuff, it looked the same. I looked closer now, and there were some subtle differences.

So I added the rest of the stuff from pre1.4.1_forums, and the topics look great now, thanks!

However, my latest-posts block is still not showing up at all. Confused

Hi Blaine, or anyone,

Sorry to keep asking, but I really don't see anything in the css definitions that would explain why the "Latest Posts" block no longer shows. Can you provide any clues as to where I would look to get this block back again?

Check and see if you even now have the block defined in your admin->blocks page. It would have been added as part of the install and maybe it's just disabled.

Hi Blaine,

Like I noted at top, the block does not show up in my Blocks admin page. I see "What's New" and "Forum Menu", but no Latest Posts" block. I don't know if it's supposed to be its own block or not. If it's supposed to be part of "What's New", it's activated but there are no forum posts showing, or forum section.

If "Latest Posts" is supposed to be its own block, it's not there at all.

The block definition must have been deleted. Go ahead and add it back - the block function is: phpblock_forum_newposts
