New Installation: Incorrect database information
noobie
Anonymous
This is a brand new install on Mac OS X 10.5.5
running Apache 2.2.8
php 5.2.6
mysql 5.0.45
Just installed mysql and it is running and I can access the geeklog database from the command line fine.
But after entering the same database name, username & password I used at the command line, the install gives me the message "Incorrect database information".
I tried running mysql with a log running but did not see any connection attempt.
What else can I look at to determine the source of the problem?
Thank you,
Mike

Well, I found the problem. It was the mysql socket used. mysql 5 is defaulting to /tmp/mysql.sock and Apache was looking for /var/mysql/mysql.sock. I edited the /etc/my.cnf to use /var/mysql and I was able to complete the Geeklog installation.
Cheers,
Mike
