It's driving me nuts how the Topics and/or Sections like you see on the left looks.

I don't know if you can do it as just some code in a block or what ever.
But I want to make it look more like this.
1. Group topics in Categories.
2. Instead of showing number of stories. Show Number of "new" Stories from last log-in by user and a small "new"image.
Like so. (Note were it reads "New" needs to be a small image not text" )

If there is nothing new it will not show anything. Like you see next to spam and Announcements.
