Moving Geeklog from root directory to another directory on the same web hosting account.

Hi,
I've had Geeklog installed for quite a while without any problems and it does everything I want. So thank you to everyone who has had anything to do with developing Geeklog!
What I want to do now is move my entire geeklog directory and keep everything intact. I'm worried that if I purely just move it using my ftp program then all the communications between the MySQL database and the html side of things will be screwed up (don't really know much about that stuff, getting it installed was difficult enough with all the addons I need).
So I was wondering whether this is something that is possible, and if it is, could someone describe how to do it for me.
Many thanks in anticipation!!!
