Plugins Today marks a major milestone in the release of the phpBBBridge plugin. I am proud to announce that the phpBB--Geeklog integration has reached version 1.0!

At its core, phpBBBridge is a standard Geeklog plugin that integrates the phpBB forum with Geeklog. It provides a single sign-on solution, allowing your users to get everything out of both Geeklog and phpBB using a single account on your site. It also transparently and seamlessly merges the interfaces of these two applications.

Its list of features includes:

Geeklog Usage Stats [GUS] Plugin

Plugins The Geeklog Usage Stats [GUS] plugin collects statistics on who visits your site, which browser and operating system they are using, which pages they view, and which links they are clicking to get there. It allows the administrator to browse these stats through a series of tables, getting right down into the data they're interested in.

This plugin is based on the Stats plugin by Tom Willett and John Hughes. The major difference between the two plugins is the layout of the database and, as of the latest version, CSS for the tables. Reports from testers indicate that it requires about half the space in the database and is noticeably faster.

GUS provides an interface for importing your data from the stats plugin v1.2 or v1.3.

The latest version adds a new way to look at IP addresses and uses CSS for tables so it may be customised more easily for different themes.

You can find a couple of screenshots or download it through my geeklog software page, or you can download it right here on geeklog.net.

Geeklog

As you have no doubt noticed, Geeklog development wasn't exactly going forward swiftly lately, mostly due to personal and job-related commitments of the current core team members. So we've decided to enlist more personnel:

Please welcome Oliver Spiesshofer (aka tokyoahead) and Michael Jervis (aka THEMike) as new members of the core Geeklog 1.3 development team. Mike and Oliver will replenish the current team, which consists of Tony, Blaine, Vinny, and this guy.

I'm still reluctant to give a timeframe, but the next steps towards Geeklog 1.3.12 will be to stabilize what we already have in CVS with the aim to release a beta version before we move on to release candidates. The idea of the beta being to get some feedback on some of the new features that are currently under development before we finalize them.

In the meantime, if you want to keep track of the development, you can subscribe to the geeklog-devtalk mailing list to which daily digests of the (closed) geeklog-devel mailing list are posted and join in on the discussions.
