EMail password via SMTP?

The webserver I am running geeklog on is not a valid MX server. Can I get geeklog to use a SMTP-server instead?

Actually, I don't think your machine needs to be a valid MX, it just needs sendmail available on it.
A GL 1.4 option might be to use PEAR::Mail which allows many different mail methods.
Can you tell I'm a big PEAR fan now? Well, all execpt for PEAR::Auth!

Ah, sendmail is not an option. In fact there is no mail
delivery system on that server that I can utilize. So I'll
have to go with PEAR. What is it and how do I use it? This
is the first time I use PHP...

Well if you have control of the server I'd suggest installing a sendmail or a sendmail compatable SMTP program. If you can't; you're probally going to have to re-code the email function to do a SMTP Socket connection to a local mail server that will allow you to connect to it. PEAR has an 'ok' class to do this. It's not great but it works.
