Hello Everyone - I am new to Geeklog and attempting an installation.
I am on a Modwest server running Linux RedHat 7.x Apache 1.3.x PHP 4.1.2
Installing Geeklog 1.3.4 and using the installation script - I get past step one and on the way to step two I get the following
Fatal error: Call to undefined function: preg_quote() in /htdocs/www/spc/system/classes/template.class.php on line 303
Does anyone have insight as to how to fix this?
Thanks!

Regular expression support is provided by the PCRE library package, written by Philip Hazel. It is available at ftp://ftp.csx.cam.ac.uk/pub/software/programming/pcre/.
Beginning with PHP 4.2.0 these functions are enabled by default. For older versions you have to configure and compile PHP with --with-pcre-regex[=DIR] in order to use these functions. You can disable the pcre functions with --without-pcre-regex.
You are all a bunch of freaks!

I found this page whilst trying to get Geeklog installed on my FreeBSD server... having the same problem as above.
I was attempting to install PHP4 from ports, the PHP ports have been updated lately, and split into smaller more manageable parts...
Install /usr/ports/lang/php4 (or /usr/ports/www/mod_php4), and then install the other php parts you need...
PCRE for example is in /usr/ports/lang/php4-extensions.
MySQL in /usr/ports/databases/php4-mysql.
A bit confusing to say the least, but reminds me to always read /usr/ports/CHANGES and /usr/ports/UPDATING after doing a cvsup...
