Is it possible use the items from the sections menu in a top-menu ?
I _could_ do this by hardcoding the links in header.thtml, but that makes the page less dynamic (duh).
Also, is it possible to reserve some of the links in the top-menu for logged-in users only? by adding an if-else statement to the lib-common file maybe ..
thnx

Hi,
In answer to your second question, yes, privs aware menuing is not only
dooable, but done, as is paging, searching, etc through a new Static
Pages Plugin V1.1, which will be released from my new GL site shortly.
The SPV1.1 is actually an extensive rework and quite powerful.
Keep an eye on this (SF) site, I'll be announcing it here within the next
couple of days, along with some extra patches/hacks that folks have
been asking after.
Cheers,
Phill.

The Main Sections Block includes the functionality to dynamically generate a number of the menu items as they are dependent per site defined topics. Depending on how many topic you have and if you have static pages as well - the header may get too crowded.
Today, you can create multiple static pages and each one of those will dynamically appear as links in the header - second line. You may want to look at how this is done (via a defined variable that is pre-populated) for some ideas.
If you have a limited number of topics and links for this section, you may be able to just use HTML links. The file header.thtml does this for each layout.
I did just the opposite on my site. I removed all links in the header and placed only the ones I wanted into the Sections Block and renamed it.
Cheers,
Blaine

Thanx, off course the header may get too crowded, but I'm only going to have like 5 topics ..
"I _could_ do this by hardcoding the links in header.thtml, but that makes the page less dynamic (duh)"
I am going to try to not hardcode the links, but if i have to, its going to be a flash menu of some sort.
