Just a suggestion but is it possible to change that 'admin' folder? I know I'm probably not the only one out there that has had problems. My webhost has /admin as default to get to webmail, stats, etc. I had to rename the folder to admins and change way too many references to that folder in files. Anybody who came across this and would like the 'updated' files just contact me.

In theory, this should be possible by adjusting $_CONF['site_admin_url'] in your config.php. However, this doesn't work properly in Geeklog 1.3.5 yet. You'll have to wait for 1.3.6, I'm afraid (AFAIK it is already fixed in CVS).
bye, Dirk

"AFAIK it is already fixed in CVS"
Does this include all the stock themes as well?
I kind of fear for the various themes that are being cloned from the themes which hardwired "/admin/".
I grepped the system for "/admin/" and there are many dozen spots where admin is hardwired. 1.3.6 really needs to have a script that will go in and fix up themes that were installed pre-1.3.6.
This looks like a pretty big mess, actually since themes could be prolific and every theme that dealt with any admin interfaces would have to change to use the site_admin_url form of the URL.
I simply am asking how much will be fixed in 1.3.6 and when will 1.3.6 be released (any idea?) Thanks for any info.

The themes in CVS (Classic, Yahoo, Digital Monochrome, XSilver, and Smooth Blue) have been fixed. Clean and Gameserver should be okay as well (actually, I'm using Gameserver on a 1.3.6 test setup where 'admin' has been changed to 'myadmin' and it works fine).
So that leaves all the other themes. You can already use [site_admin_url] instead of [site_url]/admin in your themes in 1.3.5 - that part works fine already. So there's no holding you back making the change to your themes now.
As for the release date of 1.3.6 - no idea, sorry. I will try and compile a list of the theme changes for 1.3.6 and post them prior to the 1.3.6 release, so that any theme authors can prepare for the upgrade in advance.
bye, Dirk

Thanks, Dirk.
I think my main concern is that people are building themes based on hardwired /admin/ paths.
I've already modified the theme I care about XSilver/1.3.5, so I'm not having to wait...was that themes people are making that will be incompatible if cloned off an 1.3.5 base and not aware of the /admin/ issue - it was the echo effect from cloning old stuff, that's all.
Thanks alot. Looking forward...
Landon
