Does Geeklog require session.auto_start or session.use_trans_sid,etc?

I ask cos I am using Apache2 w/php4.2.2 and they all get set to 0 automatically. I cannot log in, etc on the server now throuh geeklog. BUT if geeklog requires these settings, then I can enable them and hopefully fix the issue. EVERYTHING ELSE is fine under 4.2.2. w/Apache2
Any ideas?
Plz give advice. (not including "go back to Apache 1.3.x...i cannot do that on this site--yet i still wish to track down the issues w/php4.2.2) I am a glutton for punishment.

Geeklog doesn't use sessions.
Please note that Apache 2 support is still described as "experimental" by the makers of PHP. In other words - you are on your own with any problems you may encounter with that setup ...
