Hiding Menu options

Dirk is gonna hate me =/ I need to, firstly hide a menu on the left hand side, where you have "home, geeklog, got geeked etc" but i still need it to exsist so I can put stories in there, but only accessible via the story link. I was going to make them static pages, but that doesnt really help. See, when my users login, I allow them to see a new menu, called "Reseller Resources" and in there, is a page with links to whitepaper documents. And ive had to create a topic, called "White pages" but I dont want them to be able to browse that topic, from the menu, only via the story link. Thats one thing. Secondly, when a user log's in, is it possible, depending on their group, redirect them to a page within the site? ie: user enters details, clicks login -> sent to other page Can this be done? Thanks oneilxm

The first problem sounds like it could be solved using Geeklog's built-in permissions. For example, you could hide the Sections Block from anonymous users. Similarily, you can assign topics to be accessible only by certain user groups. I'd suggest you spend some time playing with the groups and permissions. Be aware, though, that some of these things do not work properly yet. Geeklog 1.3.6 will fix these, though. The second problem, redirecting users when they log in, will require some hacking in users.php. You will notice when someone logs in, they are redirected to users.php and back to where they came from. You should be able to intervene here and redirect users to another place. bye, Dirk
