Submission queue question?

Anonymous
I just upfraded to 1.3.6rc1 mainly just for the feature to disable the submission queues. My goal for my site is to let me and my friends post while still letting others comment and stuff. Is there any way to limit who posts while the submission queue is off? I really don't want anonomous users and "non-friend" users to have free posting right on my site. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

To prevent anonymous users from posting, you can set $_CONF['submitloginrequired'] = 1; in your config.php. However, it is not possible to restrict the "free posting" to a certain group of users. bye, Dirk

thanks, I forgot about that setting. I'll probably just turn on the registration queue to prevent anyone from registering and posting.

ok, related question, do the settings $_CONF['linksloginrequired'] = 1; $_CONF['pollsloginrequired'] = 1; $_CONF['calendarloginrequired'] = 1; prevent viewing these things or just posting to them?

These are to prevent viewing links, etc. $_CONF['submitloginrequired'] will prevent anonymous users from submitting stories, links, and events. bye, Dirk

Can user submitted Comments be previewed and approved by the Admin First and approved before they show up under a commented story? How is this accomplished. Thanks.

A submission queue for comments was introduced back in Geeklog 1.6.0.

It's off by default. To enable it, go to

Configuration > Geeklog Configuration > Users and Submissions > Comments

and set the option "Queue Comment Submissions" to True.

bye, Dirk
