I've been poking for the last few hours, but can't seem to figure this out.
Here's my scenario, and I need to have this in place by this evening...
The church I am working for has small groups. Each group is led by a single person or a couple.
I want each small group leader (or set of leaders) to be the "Group Admin" of all users in their church small group.
Following me?
I want the group leader(s) to be able to log on and send mail to any of the users who are in their group (both in Geeklog and in the church).
Does Geeklog have a way for this to happen? i.e., A Group Admin be able to mass email all of the users in his Group.
???
Can it be does, and can it be does by tonight?
Thanks for the awesome software and for your help!
Aaron

The problem I see is that if you make someone a UserAdmin (or GroupAdmin) in Geeklog, s/he will have access to ALL user data. You can not created a UserAdmin account that is restricted to only a certain group of users.
That said, if all you really want to do is to give people the ability to send mail to certain groups of users, then I would suggest you look at customising the "Mail Users" feature (in admin/mail.php).
Or you may be able to use it as it is: It requires that a user is a "Mail Admin". So you could make the group leaders MailAdmins and if you have a group in Geeklog for each of your small groups, they can then send mail to all members of their group.
Of course, they can also send mail to the other groups - that's where you might want to customise that function. For example, you could modify it so that the group dropdown only contains the groups of which the current user is also a member (possibly filtering out "Logged-in users" as well).
Does that make sense?
bye, Dirk
