I need help installing GLv1.3.6 to our site, as the person who originally installed v1.3.5 to our site is currently very busy working on the installer program for our Linux distro. Don't tell me to RTFM, because it won't do no good, as I know nothing about PHP at all -- and at least I can admit that! So, if you want to help install GLv1.3.6; then please email me privately at the following email address:

michael@inceptionos.org

Does this imply you'll have someone else do it for you or that you want to do it yourself just and just want to figure out where to start? If you join irc.freenode.net and go to #geeklog I'm sure one of us developers there would be willing to do an install for you for a nominal fee. Otherwise you'll probably have to start doing it yourself and let us know when you stuck. Another though, upgrades are pretty straight forward and can be done in a matter of minutes. It may be worth your programmers time to take the few minutes it would take to do it. Only think that could blow that time estimate out of porportion is if you have one or more custom themes.---The reason people blame things on previous generations is that there's only one other choice.

A 'nominal fee', where am I supposed to get that kind of money, my group has no money to give out...if you have such a problem with it; then Tony, you don't have to do it. There are others who are probably willing to help out for free, for example:

The domain name: inceptionos.org; donated
The web space: donated
The servers: donated
Etc: donated

So, you see..?!

Michael calm down. My point was simply we'd be happy to walk you through the install if you are doing it yourself. If you want someone else to do it, good luck. We are all busy...the 'nominal fee' would be an incentive to for someone to do it. Good luck finding help.---The reason people blame things on previous generations is that there's only one other choice.

try being friendly when asking for handouts, it'll get you further. and you should just give it a shot yourself. contrary to popular belief if you follow the directions the devs provide, you can install/upgrade GL fairly easily. and if you run into problems go into IRC and you're bound to find someone. everyone has always been helpful to me around here, just try being a little nicer. i had no experience with php/mysql prior to GL and i managed to figure it out.
