Just wondering if theres a way you can change the urls that the links point to in the "navigate" block of the site! for example, "Sport" could point to an external site.

If you're referring to the Sections block then no, you can't add your own links there (not without hacking the source, that is).

But Tom Willet wrote a plugin that lets you do that (if I'm not mistaken - still haven't tried it out ...).
